The Naked Man.. Runnin and Swangin’

So, it’s a long day after work, and the driver picks me up. In the car is my grandma and driver in the front, and my lil cousin and I messing around in the back (I’m a big kid). We are taking the route that we take everyday to get home, up the mountain to Kenscoff. So, I think I had my cousin in a head lock or something, somehow he gets out from underneath my arms, pops up, points outside and randomly says in a sarcastic tone, “oh THATS nice.” I turn to look in the direction he is pointing, and to my surprise, there is this random, BUTT naked man walking/running down the mountain, right past our vehicle. I turn in disbelief and see his booty jiggling as he continues to run.

I was in shock. This man was completely naked, and I’m the only one with my mouth wide open, completely surprised that this naked man (swanging, i mean his stuff was hitting one thigh, then the other) was running down the hill. I mean he had nothing…nothing on. And everyone went about their day. My cousin told me they see this all the time. Naked women and men, randomly.

I told my students this story the next day, and all they said was, “Miss Martine, welcome to Haiti”

I learned how to say naked in Creole.. Tou-tou Ni .. or something like that :-/.
